Sports minister gives a stern warning to the Badminton administration

The Sports Ministry in a media release tates that the Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has informed the Sri Lanka Badminton Association that stern decisions would have to be made in future if the rules and regulations of the sports enactment are violated, giving rise to turmoil in the Badminton Sports Administration.

 

So far, the highest complaints received by the Sports Society Administration are, for the Badminton Sports Association and according to the complaints received, not adhering to correct procedures in the selection of players, choosing lower level players while overlooking suitable players for overseas tours, flaws in the distribution of sports material, not developing the game in the rural and district levels, not presenting accounting reports, as deemed, after overseas tours, selecting the trainee reserves in incorrect ways, being biased when organizing competitions, not evaluating matters pertaining to School Badminton Association, are complaints made against the Sri Lanka Badminton Administration and Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage has instructed the officials of the Badminton Association to rectify these errors, immediately.

The Sports Ministry states that for the welfare of Sports, many associations including the Badminton Association were called to the Ministry of Sports last week to discuss the present day progress in order to maintain efficiency of sports associations. Steps should be taken in common to submit audit reports for each calendar year by all associations by the end of each year accordingly.
