President’s Cup organized by the Group of 80’s of Hameed Al Husseinie College will be held from 07th to 22nd of January starting off with Hameed Al Husseinie College facing St. Benedict’s College at Race Course International Stadium.
Both Schools Football Federation and Sri Lanka Football Federation are rendering helping hands to organise the tournament. Most of the leading schools in School Football arena are participating in this mega event.
President’s Cup to take stage in grand style on the 7th
The official press meet for the 10th annual President’s Cup organized by the Hameed Al Husseinie Group of 80’s
Unfortunately, some schools including Zahira College, St. Joseph’s College, Isipathana College and St. Patrick’s College opted out of the Tournament due to different reasons.
The tournament will progress on a knock out basis starting on the 07th of January at Race Course International Stadium. The pre quarter finals and quarter finals have been scheduled to be held before 13th of January. These matches will be held at City League Grounds on Kew Points Road.
Semi-finals will be held on the 15th and the finals on the 22nd to round off the event. Race Course International Stadium will be the venue for both fixtures.
The winners will be awarded the prestigious Presidents’ Cup along with medals and certificates. Runners Up and Second Runners Up will receive medals and certificates for their achievement.
Individual prizes include Most Valuable Player of the Tournament, Best Goalkeeper Award, Most goals in the Tournament along with Man of the match awards for individual matches. Referees will be appreciated for their services on the final day of the Tournament.
Furthermore, the students who have represented Sri Lanka Schools Team and Sri Lanka National Team will also be felicitated for their outstanding performances so far.
