The 2nd annual Dialog Sri Lanka Cricket Awards for the 2013/2014 year will be staged in a grand style on the 3rd of September, 2014 at the Water’s Edge Grand Ballroom as the event was officially launched at a media conference held at Taj Samudra, Longden Room on Tuesday evening.
Sri Lanka Cricket Captain – Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka Cricket secretary – Nishantha Ranthunga, Sri Lanka Cricket Vice-president – Mohan De Silva, Group Chief Marketing Officer, Dialog Axiata – Amali Nanayakkara, Sri Lanka Cricket treasurer – Nuski Mohammed, Sri Lanka Cricket Chief Executive Officer – Ashley De Silva took up the head table.
SLC secretary Nishantha Ranatunga addressed the gathering and explained the concept of the awards ceremony “This is the most colourful event in our calendar and Sri Lanka Cricket is elated to have Dialog Axiata as our partner for the 2nd consecutive year after they took over the national team’s sponsorship last year. This year’s awards ceremony will be the 6th of its kind. The glamorous event will recognize and honour the national cricketers, both men and women. Around 65 cricketing heroes will proudly carry away their awards for their exceptional performances during the 2013/14 year. “
International field of Test cricket, ODI and T20 as well as the main domestic tournaments such as Premier League Tournament, Premier Limited Overs Tournament, Emerging Cricket Tournament, Sara Trophy, Donovon & Andree Tournament, Under 23 tournament and Women’s Domestic Competition will be the main categories eligible for awards.

The two main awards are the Dialog Cricketer of the Year 2013/14 and Dialog People’s Player of the Year which will be drawn from a SMS voting and social media voting. Fans can send as many SMS votes from any Mobile Network until the September 2nd midnight.
