Sethara Ambawatte battled hard to overcome Natasha Munaweera securing the Under 12 girls championship for a score of 7-6 6-3.
The Junior Nationals championship which commenced on 10th will be worked off over the week at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association Headquarters courts.
Meanwhile Medira Samarasighe was lucky enough to secure the Under 14 Girls singles over Rukshika Wijerathne for a score of 6-3 6-1.
Of the games hosted yesterday at the tennis courts, Aadavan Pushparaj held the under 14 national tennis championship defeating his counterpart Pravin Steel for 6-1 6-2, More over Manal Alagama was battered by Praneel Jayasinghe at the under 12 boys singles for 4-6 6-3. Anjalika Kurera beating Neyara Weerawanse for 9-8 secured under 10 girls singles while Nelaka Dissanayake won the under 10 boys singles for 9-1 beating his counterpart Rakesh Ranasinghe.
The 98th National Junior Tennis Championship was sponsored by Bharti Airtel for the 2nd consecutive year.
