The 94th Battle of the Maroons played between Ananda College, Colombo and Nalanda College, Colombo ended in a tame draw today (3rd March) at SSC Grounds, Colombo.
After been put into bat first, Nalanda College posted a solid total – 277/8 on the board before declaring their innings. The Skipper Sajitha Vithanage stood out with the bat, scoring a brilliant century, while the opening batter Sadew Samarasinghe also notched up an excellent half-century for Nalanda College.

Ashinsa Nainayake was the pick of the bowlers for Ananda College as he bagged 3 wickets for 80 runs. Yasandu Kiriella and Kaveesha Mendis also starred with the ball, scalping 2 wickets each.
On their turn with the bat, Ananda College made a strong reply with the bat, posting 286/9 before declaring their innings.
Kithma Withanapathirana and Dinada Athalage were the star performers with the bat for Ananda as they made fine half-centuries. Osanda Pamuditha excelled with the ball, claiming 3 wickets for 29 runs for Nalanda College.
