The 84th Annual two-mile sea swim championships 2023 organized by Sri Lanka Aquatic Sports Union will be held on the 03rd and 04th of March at the Mount Lavinia Hotel Beach.
550 swimmers from 56 schools and clubs are set to take part in this championships under 2 age categories; under 15 and open.
Under 15 age group and the open women category events will take place on the 3rd of March while the open men event will happen on the 04th of March.
The qualifying time for the 2-mile course is 90 minutes from the start time. All swimmers who complete the course within this time will receive certificates.
The event will be conducted as per the FINA open water swimming rules.
The famous Mount Lavinia Sea swim had to take a 3-year break due to the covid-19 pandemic and as well as crocodile threats. It was last held in 2020. Sri Lanka Army won the overall men’s championship and Sri Devananda College won the women’s championship back in 2020.
