Former Lumbini College captain Tharushan Iddamalgoda’s three wicket haul and 49 runs helped Kanrich Finance ‘B’ beat Expolanka by 1 wicket in a cliffhanger in the 2nd Fair & Lovely MCA B Division 50-over Tournament match at the Panagoda Army Grounds.

Expolanka won the toss and elected to bat first but their innings were taken by storm by the Kanrich bowling attack.
Off-spinner Chandula Weerarathna was the chief destroyer with a five-for as Expolanka crumbled for a paltry 125 runs in just 33 overs. Experienced Nadeera Nawala was the top scorer with 38 in their innings.
In reply, Kanrich did not have it easy even though it was a small target to achieve. Wickets tumbled at regular intervals which kept Expolanka in the hunt right until the end. However, Kanrich fortunately had a few gritty knocks from their middle order batsmen which got them closer and ultimately over the line with only one wicket in hand. Tharushan Iddamalgoda played a huge role with both bat and ball, taking 3 wickets and scoring a valuable 49 under pressure.
