Team Sri Lanka have qualified for the final of Melbourne Renegades Champions League for the fourth consecutive time.
Team Sri Lanka will take on Team India in the final of the tournament on Melbourne Renegades Family Day, 3rd December, at 8:30 AM at Junction Oval.
Sri Lanka’s Road to Final
Game 1 – Sri Lanka vs Nepal: A Roaring Start! Team Sri Lanka kicks off the Melbourne Renegades Champions League on a high note! Winning the toss and opting to bat on a challenging wicket, we posted an impressive 132/7. Hashan Wanasekara showcased his prowess with an outstanding 40 runs, and Visura Fernando contributed a valuable 27. In a dominant bowling display, Odil Perera took a remarkable 3 wickets for just 1 run.

Game 2 – Sri Lanka vs India: A Thrilling Contest: In a closely fought battle against India, they set a target of 117 after winning the toss and opting to bat. Ashen Abeykoon’s exceptional 5/18 bowling performance and Vihanga Fernando’s 36 were standout moments, but Team Sri Lanka fell short, all out for 114 off 19.4 overs.
Game 3 – Sri Lanka vs Afghanistan: Commanding Performance! Captain Mohammad Alfar’s top score of 38* guided Sri Lanka to an impressive 152/5. Afghanistan, in return, could only manage 97 runs, with Visura Fernando securing the spotlight with 3 wickets for 7 runs.

Game 4 – Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh: Wanasekara’s Double Delight! Hashan Wanasekara shone again as Sri Lanka posted 124/4, with Wanasekara scoring an unbeaten 66*. Bangladesh struggled to 71 in their 20 overs, as Wanasekara showcased his dual skills, taking 5/12 with the ball.

Game 5 – Sri Lanka vs Pakistan: Capturing Victory! Captain Mohammad Alfar’s powerful 67 runs led Sri Lanka to 141/7, and we successfully bowled out Pakistan for 116 runs. Ashen Abeykoon starred with 3/12 off 4 overs.

Semi Final – Sri Lanka vs Pakistan: Kappetipola’s Heroics! Bhanuka Kappetipola’s 36 runs and Ashen Abeykoon’s 2/22 in the semi-final against Pakistan secured our spot in the finals!
