Team Greys crowned champions of the Women’s Super Four T20 Tournament as they defeated Team Reds by 6 wickets in the final worked-off today (11th December) at Colts Cricket Grounds, Colombo.
Team Reds skipper Nilakshi de Silva won the toss and chose to bat first in the all-important final. However, things didn’t pan out as expected for Team Reds as they were restricted to 91/9 in the allotted 20 overs.
Tharushi Rajakaruna bowled brilliantly for Team Greys picking up 4 wickets for 17 runs while Inoshi Fernando gave her good support at the other end snaring 2 wickets for 10 runs.

In reply, Team Greys were put onto the backfoot as they lost two early wickets for just 21 runs in 6 overs but No. 4 batter Hansima Karunarathne’s match-defining knock helped them cross over the line with 6 wickets in hand.
