Tame draw at De Zoysa Stadium

St. Sebastian College clinched first innings points over Isipathana in their U-19 inter-school cricket match which ended in a tame draw at De Zoysa Stadium today.

After bowling Isipathana out for 187, four runs behind their first innings, hosts reached 197 for eight with Umeshka Morais hitting an unbeaten 51.

Batting first, St. Sebastian’s College were restricted for 191 runs when Dushan Nirmana led an impressive bowling effort with a five wicket haul. While Nirmana claimed five for 54 runs, Chameera Dissanayake with three for 34 and Kaminda Perera with two for 11 to restrict host to a below par score. But when it was their chance to bat, Isipathana faulted handing just four runs lead in the first innings. Torry Thabrew batted sensibly for 49 runs and picked up four wickets for 64 runs in hosts second essay. Chameera Dissanayake who took three in the first innings added four more in the second innings for 66 runs to finish with a match bag for seven for 100
