Commercial Credit beat MAS Unichela by five wickets in the final of the Singer-MCA Premier T20 tournament worked off at the MCA grounds in Colombo today(30).
Coming into the final as hot favorites after their success in the 50 over format of the MCA premier tournaments, MAS Unichela were invited to have a bat first on a flat track which had plenty of runs on offer. The Royal-Thomian combination of Ramith Rambukwella and Rashmika Opatha got them off to a flying start adding 41 runs in the first four overs but the separation of the duo started a major collapse as the Commercial Credit spinners took control of the game from then on.

Left arm spinner Chathuranga De Silva was the chief wrecker picking up 3 scalps while he got excellent support from Malinda Pushpakumara and Praneeth Wijesena who picked up two wickets apiece. MAS Unichela were eventually bowled out 112 with eight balls to spare in their innings while Rambukwella top scored with 28 runs.
In reply, Commercial Credit went through a few anxious moments as Rambukwella stood up once again picking up three wickets with his right arm off spinners, but Ashan Priyanjan made a solid 26 at the top of the order while man of the match Chathuranga De Silva contributed with a valuable 22 runs to see them home with more than two overs to spare.
It was sweet revenge for the Commercial Credit boys as they were beaten last weekend by the same opponents in the final of the 24th Singer-MCA Premier knockout tournament.
