The Football Federation of Sri Lanka has confirmed that the Dialog Champions League 2016 Super 8 stage will start on the 3rd of September at the Race Course International Stadium.
This news comes just days after the FFSL was forced to postpone the original kick off date, which was 27th August, due to the unavailability of the Race Course International Stadium.
“We have decided to have the match weeks only on weekends as opposed to the original fixtures which had a couple of match weeks in mid-week,” CEO of FFSL Jaswar Umar told exclusively with ThePapare.com.
“We will have four weeks of matches and then will have a break to accommodate the Sri Lanka tour of Cambodia and Thailand, where the National team will play a few friendlies,” he went onto say.
Sri Lanka is scheduled to participate in the tour at the beginning of October and the Super 8 stage will recommence on the 22nd of October once the players arrive.
The tournament is scheduled to have its grand finale in the first week of November.
