Sunil Narine is set to make a comeback into the West Indies side after he was included in the One-Day International (ODI) squad in the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
Narine, who last played during the home series against Bangladesh in August last year, had opted out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 due to issues with his action, which was reported as ‘suspect’ by the International Cricket Council (ICC). West Indies, who are playing their first ODI series since the 2015 World Cup, have made as many as eight changes to their side, with the likes of Devendra Bishoo and Ravi Rampaul coming in place of Darren Sammy and Lendl Simmons, among others.
According to a report on ESPNCricinfo, Sammy has been picked as the captain of the Twenty20 International (T20I) side that also features the pair of Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard among others. Both Bravo and Pollard had been left out of the 2015 World Cup. Phil Simmons went on to reveal the fact that the duo would be left out of the ODI squad for the series beforehand, which led to his suspension by the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB).
