St Servatius College v Gurukula College
St Servatius College registered a massive win by 286 runs in their traditional match against Gurukula College at Matara today. Play resumed on the 2nd day with the hosts on 35 for 1 in their second innings. Keshara Nimantha’s half century helped them post 179 runs for their 2nd innings. Likshan Sasanga managed to bag 5 wickets to end his match figures with 9 for 63 runs.

With a massive target of 356 runs ahead of them, Gurukula came on to bat in the 2nd session. Once again it was a disappointing innings from them as they were bowled out for 87 runs. Shashika Dulshan was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 32.
Early on, the home side posted 206 runs for their first innings with a brilliant 99 by Sashika Dulshan. In response, Gurukula were dismissed for 30 thanks to a five-fer from Charith Harshana.

Mahinda College v Presidents College
Kushan Madusha’s 11 wicket haul helped Mahinda College beat Presidents College by an innings and 25 runs in their traditional encounter at Galle. The 2nd day’s s play resumed with the visitors on 59 for 5 in their 1st innings. They had a daunting task to bat through the day but they succumbed to 121 runs in the first session itself.
The hosts enforced the follow on with a lead of 205 runs. Presidents College put together a much better fight this time with valuable knocks from Vikum Kalhara, Akila Roshan and Thevin Thevmika. But, one man stood against them and it was Kushan Madusha. His spell ripped apart the batsmen as he bagged 6 wickets in the 2nd innings to add to his 5-fer in the first innings. He ended the game with figures of 6 for 84 to secure the win for Mahinda College.
Early on, Mahinda College posted 326 for 9 with 90’s from Ashen Kandambi and Kaveesha Malliyawadu.

St Mary’s College v St Joseph Vaz College
St Joseph Vaz College secured first innings points in their Group C match against St Mary’s College at Katuneriya today. Play resumed on the 2nd day with St Mary’s College 60 for no loss in their 1st innings. The morning session was a disaster for St Mary’s College as all their ten wickets fell for just 83 runs.
St Joseph Vaz College enforced the follow on with a lead of 139 runs. However, thanks to a brilliant century by Gajitha Kotuwegoda, St Mary’s College managed to save the match at the end of the day.

St Sebastian’s College secured a much needed first innings victory against St Aloysius College in their Group C encounter at Moratuwa today. Play resumed on the 2nd day with the hosts 140 for 4 in their second innings. Janishka Perera and Vinuja Ranasinghe batted with intent as they managed to post 284 for 9 in their first innings.
St Aloysius came out to bat with a deficit of 98 runs against them. They batted well and managed to see off the day and save themselves from an outright defeat.
