St. Peter’s College hosted their Sponsors as the School prepares to kick off the 2024 season by making their sponsors public, felicitating them in Gala fashion at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo on Tuesday (May 21).
Relishing their success from 2023, St. Peter’s College felicitated their Sponsors in a Gala ceremony, making public the already well known Sponsors and providing a first look at their Jersey for the upcoming Dialog Schools’ Rugby Season.
Many top companies and high net worth individuals have come forward to provide their support as they aim to keep St. Peter’s Rugby at the helm, as the Veteran Head Coach Sanath Martis too continues his tenure with the School.
The Sponsors have stepped forward to back the team in the capacity of bronze, silver, principal, platinum or gold sponsor categories. The bar has been set, flying high as the chasing pack continues to fight to match the Peterites both on and off the field.
Rev. Fr. Rohitha Rodrigo, the Rector of St. Peter’s College, highlighted the fact that their main aim is to shape the character of players, whiling sharing his appreciation towards the generosity of the organizations and individuals attached to Peter’s Rugby. “Our sports programmes in school have nurtured talent. Rugby is a primary sport at St. Peter’s with many achievements. The profound support of the sponsors will help shape the journeys of our players,” said Rev. Fr. Rodrigo.
The occasion also marked the unveiling of the new logo of St. Peter’s College Rugby – the words ‘Our legacy of passion and glory’.
Distinguished Old Boys, representatives of the St. Peter’s College Rugby Foundation and representatives of the sponsors were present when the President of the College Rugby Foundation brought the curtain down on the event, setting the stage for a sought after Rugby Season in 2024.
