The inter-school cricket match between St. Peter’s College and Joseph Vas College continued today at the Peter’s grounds, Bambalapitiya.
Joseph Vas College starting from where they left off yesterday concluded today scoring 190 runs at the loss of all their players in 67 overs. It put tremendous pressure on the Joseph Vas players as St.Peter’s College scored a massive 286 runs yesterday in their 1st innings just in 67 overs.
For Joseph Vas Kasun Viduranga and Sewmin Silva notched up half centuries with Kasun scoring 69 runs and Sewmin an unbeaten 52. Sahan Nanayakkara and Dulan Silva chipped in 2 wickets each in favor of their school.
Visitors were looking solid in the second of the St. Peters innings as they scored 254 runs for 9 in 62 overs. Lahiru Milantha was brilliant in his batting scoring 71 runs while Jason Buljanz scored 32 runs. Hemantha Rathnayake and Kasun Vidura appeared to save their school taking 3 wickets each.
The match was drawn with St. Peter’s College winners in the 1st innings.
