St. Joseph’s were unstoppable in the cup final, defeating Trinity College 14-05 to take home the Cup championship, as St. Benedict’s, Vidyartha and Wesley won Shield, Bowl and Plate segments at the under-14 ten’s tournament played out at Sugathadasa Stadium.

Trinity College simply did not have answers on how to stop the big burly Josephians as the boys from Maradana steamrolled the lads from Kandy to take away the cup Championship.

The Josephians scored twice early on in the first half through Anjika Athukorala and Mark Karunanayake – -both converted by Ivano White – – as they took the early advantage, putting the smaller, quicker Trinity boys into a shell.

The game only got better for the Josephians as they continued to dominate throughout the second half as Trinity simply could not get a foothold in the game.

Trinity finally managed a score on the stroke of full time, however, it was too little too late as the game had already been decided, handing the Josephians a tactical master call 14-05 win.
