The semi finals of the girls under 15 all island championship took place today at the St. Joseph’s Girls School basketball courts. The two semi finals were played between St. Joseph’s College, Nugegoda v St. Lawrence Convent and Holy Family Convent v St. Bridget’s Convent.
Holy Family Convent v St. Bridget’s Convent
In the first semi final St. Bridget’s beat HFC in a closely contested game. This encounter was a repeat of the Colombo South Zonal Qualifier final which was held in December. SBC came into the match hoping to repeat the win, however this time around HFC came out with all guns blazing to put up a very determined fight led by point guard Onela Dunuwille.

In the second semi final St. Joseph’s dominated St. Lawrence in a rematch of the Colombo North Zonal Qualifier final. This result of this match was written from the beginning of the second quarter as St. Lawrence was performing in patches against a very consistent opposition.
