The week 6 matches of the AIA Premier League Tournament 2015/16 ended on Sunday with SSC and Tamil Union recording outright wins over Badureliya CC and Saracens respectively.
The most notable performance came from young Minod Bhanuka’s bat when he clobbered 342 runs in 320 balls with a strike-rate of 106. His marathon innings consists 35 boundaries and 10 fours. In the other four games, NCC, Chilaw Marians, Colts CC and Moors recorded first-innings wins.
SSC vs Badureliya
SSC crushed down Badureliya CC by an innings and 121 runs at Surrey Village grounds in Maggona.
Apart of Minod Bhanuka’s brilliance, Ramesh Mendis and Dimuth Karunarathne blasted tons for the visitors while double-arm spinner, Tharindu Rathnayake took a 7-wicket match bag.

The high-riding Tamil Union outfit recorded a convincing 7-wicket win over Saracens SC at Army grounds in Mattegoda.
Skipper Jeewan Mendis and off-spinner Dhananjaya De Silva took 4 wickets apiece on day three as the hosts’ crumbled to the spin.

Angelo Jayasinghe’s sensible knock of 141 helped Colts take first-innings points against Galle in their high-scoring drawn match at Colts grounds.
Sri Lanka A representative consumed 304 balls for his 141 which helped the hosts’ chase down Galle’s mammoth first-innings score of 376.

Nimesh Perera’s unbeaten 85 helped Chilaw Marians get first-innings points over Ragama CC in their drawn match at FTZ grounds in Katunayake.
Udara Jayasundera and Roshene Silva made half-centuries for Ragama in their second innings but the hosts’ took major honours in this game.
