Sri Lanka’s legendary cheer leader Percy Abeysekera who is well known as ‘Uncle Percy’ in cricket fraternity around the world, has passed away.
Percy Abeysekera, who gained recognition in the Cricketing world for his patriotism and love for the sport, celebrated his 87th birthday two months ago, but has reportedly been unwell in the recent past.

Percy, who was born on 30th July in 1936 in Balapitiya, was known to be one of the longest-standing supporters of the Sri Lankan Cricket team and carried the Sri Lankan flag at Cricket grounds to support the team, since the 1979 World Cup.
