The Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC), in collaboration with DFCC Bank, will proudly host the prestigious Faldo Series Sri Lanka from January 7 to 9, marking a significant milestone in junior golf development in the region. 

As part of Sir Nick Faldo’s globally recognised initiative, this event not only provides an international platform for young golfers to showcase their skills but also solidifies Sri Lanka’s place on the global golfing map. 

A Premier Platform for Young Talent 

The Junior Tour, featuring a 54-hole World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event, promises to attract top-tier junior golfers. With over 110 entries and 15 international participants already on board, this competition highlights Colombo’s growing importance in the international golfing circuit. 

Category winners will earn the honor of competing at the Asia Grand Final at Laguna Lang Co., Vietnam, a golden opportunity to showcase their talent on a global stage. 

Junior Tour Age Categories: 

  • Boys: 13-16, 17-21 
  • Girls: 13-16, 17-21 

Faldo Futures: Nurturing the Next Generation 

The Faldo Futures program, tailored for younger golfers, focuses on building foundational skills and cultivating a passion for the sport. Featuring a 27-hole format across three days, it provides a dynamic and engaging experience for budding players. 

Victors will secure a place in the Faldo Futures Final at The Belfry, one of the world’s most iconic golfing venues. 

Faldo Futures Age Categories: 

  • Boys: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 
  • Girls: 7-8, 9-10, 11-12

The Faldo Series Sri Lanka 2025 promises to be a transformative event, fostering excellence, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among the next generation of golfing stars in South Asia. It is a testament to the collaborative efforts of RCGC and DFCC Bank in uplifting the sport to new heights in Sri Lanka. 

RCGC Captain Amrith de Soysa, in recognising the importance of nurturing junior talent, reaffirmed the club’s unwavering commitment to advancing the sport. He noted that this initiative comes at a crucial juncture, as Sri Lanka seeks to elevate its standing in the global golfing arena. 

This event not only celebrates the spirit of competition but also establishes a foundation for Sri Lanka’s aspiring golfers to thrive on international stages.
