Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors (Qatar) Cricket Tournament this Friday

The 13th Annual Cricket Tournament of Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors (SLQS) – Qatar is to be held on 23rd February (Friday) 2018 at MIC Sports Complex Cricket Grounds in Mesaieed, Qatar from 7.00 am onwards. This is one of the popular and much awaited annual events in the SLQS year calendar which is open for their members only.

A total of twenty men’s and four women’s teams are taking part in this year’s tournament. The first round league matches were held on 16th February 2018. The second and final day of matches will be held on 23rd February (Friday) from 7.00 am onwards and In order to add much excitement and enjoyment to the event, there will be six finals, namely Women’s, Best Loser, Shield, Bowl, Plate and Men’s Cup final.

According to the organizers “in addition to the cricket, the final day of the event is expected to be filled with entertaining events such as kid’s corner, music and other fun activities and will be sort of a cricket carnival where the SLQS members with their families, colleagues and friends will flock to enjoy. The ground is open to all cricket enthusiasts and not limited to Sri Lankan nationals. However, the players are from SLQS members and their family members only”

The event is organized by “The Society of Sri Lankan Quantity Surveyors – Qatar” (SLQS – Qatar) one of the prominent Sri Lankan community Non-Profit associations which has more than 1100 active members and is operating under the patronage of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the State of Qatar.  The main objectives of the association and this event are “to foster social relationship among the members, their families to overcome their professional & social endurance and to support the ideals, equality, peace, sustainable development of the society and apply these ideals in the conduct of the society.
