Sri Lanka Cricket launched a song today, (24) in hope of getting the country to rally behind the National team as they head into the 2019 ICC World Cup in England.
The heartfelt song is centered on the theme of “One Team One Nation” and calls every Sri Lankan to come together and support the national team as they lock horns with the best in the world at the biggest cricketing stage.
The song which is composed and sung by popular artist Sanka Dineth and written by Wasantha Moragala, is titled “Warak Wati Dewarak Nagi Siti Sinhayan Api”.
Commenting on the song, Hon. Harin Fernando, Minister of Telecommunication, Foreign Employment and Sports stated, “We look forward to our team representing our country at the ICC World Cup. I Would like to wish each of our players, as well as our coaches and support staff, all the very best as they participate in this all-important tournament”
“This song, which Sri Lanka Cricket has launched will give our players the reassurance that their country needs to stand together as one more than ever, that this song will remind us of our shared interests, common passions, and the things that unite us over those that decide us” he added.

The song’s official video will be premiered on Sri Lanka Cricket YouTube Channel on 29th of May.
The Sri Lanka Cricket team will play their warmup games on 24th(today) and 27th of May before they play their first World Cup encounter against New Zealand on 1st of June.
