Sri Lanka Women’s National Baseball Team secured their first-ever international victory with a stunning 13–0 win against Iran in the tournament.

After a tough loss against the formidable Indian side, the Sri Lankan lasses rose from the ashes to put immense pressure on the Iranian women.

In the first inning, both teams failed to score. Sri Lanka then gained momentum, scoring two and three runs in consecutive innings. The fourth inning saw the Sri Lankans roaring, as they added another eight runs to their tally.

Throughout the match, the Iranian side was unable to post even a consolation run. In the end, the Sri Lankan women rewrote their baseball history, making a bold statement that they are no longer the underdogs.

In other matches, Thailand (18–2), Indonesia (15–0), and India (2–1) claimed victories over Cambodia, Malaysia, and Pakistan, respectively.
