The series is expected to be a closely fought one with Pakistan ranked 7th in the ICC Women’s Team Rankings, while Sri Lanka lie at 8th.

Sri Lanka last faced Pakistan in the Women’s World Cup in England, where they managed to scrape through to a 15-run win, claiming their only win of the Tournament. Veteran Dilani Manodara starred with the bat, making 84 as Sri Lanka managed 221 in their allotted overs. The Lankan lasses were able to defend the total thanks chiefly to a 4-wicket haul from Chandima Gunaratne.

This will be Sri Lanka’s 1st assignment since they traveled to the West Indies in October last year, where they were soundly beaten by the Windies Women in the 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.

The tour will begin with 3 ODIs, which will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on the 20th, 22nd and 24th of March. The three games will count for the ICC Women’s Championship 2017 – 2021 cycle, in which Sri Lanka currently lies in 8th place, the only team without a win under their belts.

The T20I series will move to Colombo where SSC will host the 1st and 3rd games while NCC will host the 2nd.
