The Sri Lanka Women’s outfit would be disappointed with the way things went over the past two days as the Shamlie Nawaz’s lead team failed to make an impact from the first day onwards.

Sri Lanka’s horror campaign, which ended on Day 1, began in a drastically different manner as the Lankans managed to get the better out of hosts Nepal in the Bowl Semi Final.

Nepal showed great resistance as they went into the break with a lead: however, the Lankan ladies fought back from being 10 points down to score two late tries to fight back and secure a spot in the Bowl Final after the conversion of the final try was successful.

In the Bowl Final, Sri Lanka faced Uzbekistan, as the Uzbek women aimed to end the tournament with some silverware.

Their valiant effort went to waste as the Lankan Woman were too good at the Half Time break, leading 14-05.

Uzbekistan struck back, Sri Lanka a late score from Charani Liyanage meant that Sri Lanka got into an unassailable lead.

The game ended 21-19 as Sri Lanka managed to win some silverware in the form of the Bowl. However, Sri Lanka will be thoroughly disappointed with their performances as they failed to make the cut through to the top division in 2025.
