Sri Lanka Water Polo held a Water Polo development program in Kandy on the 6th July with the Trinity College Water Polo team as a part of SLWP plans to spread the sport across the country.

SLWP head coach Lt. Malaka Chandradasa, Coach Awnee Razack and National vice-Captain Yahan Samarajeewa conducted the program with over 20 young Water Polo players. The coaches held an in pool training session and also spend some time with the players to educate them on Water Polo rules and how to improve Water Polo at Trinity College. Trinity College Coach Ranmal Avantha too was present at this occasion.

Kandy is a very successful city for swimmers and with this introduction program the SLWP believes Trinity College and other schools and clubs can develop this sport and deliver quality Water Polo players to this country just like how Kandy has produced Olympic Swimmers including Olympian Heshan Unamboowe.

SLWP hopes to visit few other schools and clubs in Kandy very soon and this is the 2nd development program held by SLWP after they visited the Foundation of Goodness, Tsunami Village in Seenigama last month.

The Program is supported by Nutella.
