Sri Lanka registered a thumping win over Scotland in their second game of ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2024 played today (27th April) at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu won the toss and invited Scotland to take the first lease of the wicket.

Sri Lanka once again displayed their strength with the ball, knocking over their opposition for just 94 runs. The off-spinner Kavisha Dilhari was the pick of the bowlers for the islanders as she grabbed 4 wickets for 13 runs.

The off-spinner Inoshi Fernando who picked up a 3-wicket haul in the last game against Thailand, once again stood out with the ball scalping another 3-fer.

Sri Lanka cruised to the target quite comfortably as their opening pair Athapaththu and Vishmi Gunaratne put on an unbeaten 95-run partnership for the first wicket.

Athapaththu was the major contributor with the bat as she racked up a fine half-century while Gunaratne made unbeaten 24 runs.

Sri Lanka will face off Uganda in their third game of the tournament on the 1st May at Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
