India registered a convincing win over Sri Lanka in the first match of Women’s Tri-Nation ODI Series 2025 played today (27th April) at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
Due to the prevailing rainy conditions, the game was reduced to a 39-over contest. Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and invited the hosts to take the first lease of the wicket.
Sri Lanka didn’t have the greatest of time with the bat as they were bundled out for just 147 runs. The opening batter Hasini Perera was the top scorer for Sri Lanka as she made 30 runs off 46 balls with 4 fours.

Sneh Rana was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors as she grabbed 3 wickets for 31 runs.
India showed a dominant batting performance in contrast to get over the line in the 30th over with 9 wickets in hand.
Smriti Mandhana gave them a rollicking start, one that kept them well above the asking rate. The opening batter Pratika Rawal and No. 3 batter Harleen Deol then anchored the run-chase with an unbeaten 95-run stand for the second wicket.
