Sri Lanka suffered a 7-wicket defeat at the hands of India in their second warm-up game of ICC Men’s U19 World Cup 2024 played today (17th January) at Pretoria in South Africa.
After opting to bat first, Sri Lanka managed to post only 208 runs for 9 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Dinura Kalupahana was the top scorer for Sri Lanka as he made 67 runs off 108 balls with 3 fours.

Musheer Khan was the pick of the bowlers for India as he snared 3 wickets for 34 runs in his 9-over spell. India had a walk in the park victory as they cruised to the target with ease losing only 3 wickets.
Khan who excelled with the ball earlier in the day, showed his skills with the bat scoring match winning half-century while Uday Saharan also notched up a crucial fifty in India’s dominant win over the islanders.

Sri Lanka will play their first game of ICC Men’s U19 World Cup against Zimbabwe on the 21st January at Kimberley.
