Sri Lanka emerged champions of Women’s U19 Tri-Nation T20 Series 2024 as they beat the hosts Bangladesh by 36 runs in the final of the tournament played today (2nd February) at Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh.

Opting to bat first, Sri Lanka posted a commanding total on the board – 148/3 in the allotted 20 overs thanks to top contributions by Nethmi Senarathna and Dewmi Vihanga.

Senarathna top scored for the visitors with an unbeaten knock of 66 runs off 57 balls with 8 fours while Vihanga contributed with vital 49 runs off 42 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes.

In reply, Bangladesh were knocked over for just 112 runs handing a 36-run win for the visitors. Sri Lankan bowlers displayed a clinical show with the ball to restrict the hosts.

Dewmi Vihanga was the pick of the bowlers for Sri Lanka as she claimed 3 wickets for 13 runs. Yasanthi Nimanthika and Rismi Sanjana also impressed with the ball, picking up 2 wickets each for the visitors.
