Sri Lanka squad has been announced for the upcoming ICC U19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2024, held in South Africa.
Sineth Jayawardene will lead the 15-member Sri Lanka squad, while Malsha Tharupathi has been named his deputy.
Fourteen members of the Sri Lanka U19 Asia Cup squad have retained their places, with the only change to the main squad being the inclusion of Supun Waduge in place of Dinuka Tennakoon.
Sri Lanka will play their first game of the tournament against Zimbabwe on 21st January at Kimberley. Australia and Namibia will be Sri Lanka’s other two opponents in the Group Stage.
Prior to the tournament, Sri Lanka is expected to play two warmup games against Bangladesh (January 14) and India (January 17).
