The first leg of the Sri Lanka Under 20 All Island Schools Rugby 7s tournament was held today at the Royal College sports complex.

It was an ecstatic display  of rugby 7s from the first kick off onward and great skill and attacking prowess was displayed by many schools. The western province 7s title holders Wesley college met reigning champions Dharmaraja College Kandy  in one of the most entertaining matches of the evening which saw the Rajans victorious after a hard fought game of rugby. The Peterites added color  to day one with a exquisite display of open rugby however they were faced with stiff opposition by prince of wales college.

Note worthy performances came from the likes of D.S Sennanayake and C.W.W Kannangara college whom both played under a headstrong temperament while the latter manage to secure a win against the formidable likes of trinity college kandy.

The second leg will be held tomorrow  at the royal college sports complex where the big guns will be brought out for show as all contenders will battle it out for the coveted Sri Lanka Schools Rugby 7s crown.
