The fifteen member squad has included three new players from the squad that was selected for the U-19 Asia Cup tournament while three have been removed.
The three players who have been included are Hashen Ramanayake of Royal, Hashan Vimarshana of St. Thomas’ Matara and Harsha Rajapakshe of Rahula, Matara who are performing well during the current schools cricket season.
Those who are left out are Roshan Anuruddha of Gurukula, Sahan Arachchige of Ananda and Chamika Karunaratne of Royal who did not do too well while one was not given a game at the Asia Cup.
Kusal Mendis of Prince of Wales is retained as the captain of the Sri Lanka under-19 squad for the World Cup tournament to be held in Dubai in February 2014.
