England U19 managed to take the upper hand on Day 2 of the second Youth Test of the two-match series against Sri Lanka U19 at the College Grounds in Cheltenham.
After being asked to bat first, the visitors were bundled out for just 153 runs despite No. 4 batter Gayana Weerasinghe contributing with a fighting half-century. Weerasinghe stroked 77 runs off 111 balls with 8 fours and a six. For England, Naavya Sharma was the standout bowler, grabbing 5 wickets for 44 runs.

The hosts replied strongly with the bat, putting on 401 runs for 5 wickets at the close of play on Day 2. Skipper Hamza Shaikh stood out with a brilliant century, while Jaydn Denly, Rocky Flintoff, and Keshana Fonseka contributed with fine half-centuries.

Left-arm spinner Manuja Chanthuka was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors, snaring 2 wickets for 59 runs.
