Sri Lanka U19 squad to take on Australia U19 in the upcoming Youth ODI & Test series was announced on Wednesday.
Left-handed batsman Nipun Dananjaya will continue to lead the young lions as they host a strong Australian side to play three youth ODIs and one youth Test.
The three one-day matches will be played at P. Sara Stadium on 3rd, 5th and 7th January, followed by the three-day match from 10th to 12th January at SSC Grounds.
Dhananjaya will have several in-form batsmen such as Kamil Mishara, Sonal Dinusha and Navod Paranavithana in the squad. Dinusha and Paranavithana scored heavily during the recent U19 series against Bangladesh.

At least six players from the selected squad have played first-class cricket in the ongoing domestic season, while two combined U19 teams took part in the SLC Emerging League in November last year.

Right-handed top order batsman Thaveesha Abishek has earned a maiden call-up to the junior national side, while left-arm pacer Dilshan Madushanka, who has done well for BRC in the recently-concluded Emerging League has also been named in the 15-member squad.
Madushanka, an unknown quantity will be vying for a place in the final XI along with other seamers such as Lakshan Gamage, Praveen Nimesh and Chamindu Wijesinghe.

Abishek’s school mate from Richmond College, Dilum Sudeera, a talented left-arm spinner will join right-arm off-spinner Ashain Daniel and left-arm orthodox bowler Rohan Sanjaya to form a potent three-pronged spin attack. Daniel and Sanjaya bowled exceptionally well
Raveen De Silva, a right-arm leg-spinning all-rounder will add much needed stability to the side.
All selected players are eligible to take part in the 2020 Youth World Cup in South Africa.
