England Lions continued their dominance over Sri Lanka at the end of Day 2 of the four-day warmup game between the sides played at Worcester.

The Day 2 began with England Lions on 145/4 for their first innings in reply to Sri Lanka’s first innings total of 139.

The hosts added 71 more runs to the total losing 2 wickets in the first session of the day. Prabath Jayasuriya and Kasun Rajitha picked up the two wickets fallen in the morning session.

The tail-enders also contributed with valuable runs in the post-lunch session as England Lions posted 324 runs for their first innings.

Hamza Shaikh (91) and Kasey Aldridge (78) struck fifties for England Lions while Sri Lanka’s main spin weapon Prabath Jayasuriya starred with the ball, claiming a five-fer.

Sri Lanka were supposed to begin their second innings in the final session, but the bad light didn’t allow the play to resume.
