Sri Lanka to co-host Emerging Teams Asia Cup in December

Sri Lanka will co-host the upcoming 3rd ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2018 with Pakistan from 6th to 15th December.

The Emerging Teams Asia Cup will be played between eight Asian countries with the five Test nations – Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan fielding their Emerging teams (11 under 23 players plus four players aged above 23) and three Associate nations, UAE, Hong Kong and Oman who will be fielding their national teams.

Sri Lanka won last year’s tournament, the second edition held in Bangladesh beating Pakistan in the final. India won the inaugural Emerging Teams Asia Cup which was held at Singapore in 2013 by defeating their mighty rivals Pakistan.

Group A consist of co-hosts, Sri Lanka, India, Afghanistan and Oman with their matches to be played at R. Premadasa Stadium and CCC Grounds, while in Group B, co-hosts, Pakistan, Bangladesh, UAE and Hong Kong will battle it out in two different venues in Karachi, Pakistan.

The semi-finals and final will only be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
