The National Selection Committee has selected a 16-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe.
Wanindu Hasaranga will lead the side for the first time and will be Sri Lanka’s 13th T20I Captain. The middle order batter Charith Asalanka has been named as his deputy.
The veteran batter Angelo Mathews, who last represented Sri Lanka in T20Is three years ago, has returned to the squad, while the off-spinner Akila Dananjaya will also making a return to the national setup after two years’ time.

The 3-match T20I series will be played from 14th January to 18th January at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium. All the matches will be played as Day/Night encounters.
