The National Cricket Selection Committee has announced an 18-member Sri Lanka squad for the upcoming Test series against England.

Dhananjaya de Silva will lead the squad while Kusal Mendis will continue to play the role of vice-captain in the side.

The opening batter Pathum Nissanka and speedster Asitha Fernando have returned to the Test side after missing out the Bangladesh series.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Vandersay who impressed with a match-winning bowling performance in the second ODI against India with a 6-wicket haul, has found a place in Sri Lanka Test squad.

  The speedsters Nisala Tharaka and Milan Rathnayake have also earned callups, strengthening Sri Lanka’s fast bowling battery.

The three-match Test series will be played from the 21st of August to the 10th of September. Old Trafford, Lords and Kia Oval have been announced as the venues for the three Tests.

The Test series is part of the ICC World Test Championship.
