The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, alongside the Ministry of Tourism, is organizing the Sri Lanka Sports Fiesta 2024, which will take place from 16th to 18th August in Colombo.
Powered by Dialog Axiata – Sri Lanka’s #1 Connectivity Provider and Prolific Promoter of Sri Lanka Sports, this event promises to be the largest national sports extravaganza ever to be held in Sri Lanka and the first of its kind in South Asia.

The mega fiesta will feature over 3000 athletes competing in seven thrilling team sports: Cricket, Rugby, Football, Netball, Hockey, Volleyball and Basketball.
Designed to showcase local talent and inspire the next generation of athletes, the Sri Lanka Sports Fiesta 2024 aims to provide a platform for athletes to display their skills and compete at a high level. Spectators can look forward to an array of exciting matches, with each sport offering its unique brand of entertainment.

Rugby
Rugby will have different categories worked out throughout all three days and will be played at the Racecourse Stadium. The top 8 clubs will participate in the Air Force Commander’s Cup in two segments. The Division 1 Segment A schools will field its U16 teams in a 10-A-Side competition whilst the four main clubs will play in the Women’s segment.

Volleyball
The Finals of the Dialog President’s Gold Cup will be played on the 16th of August afternoon at the Royal College Indoor Sports Complex. The two Men’s and Women’s Finals will be a part of the Sri Lanka Sports Fiesta. Over 1500 Teams have competed in the preliminary rounds depicting the true value of taking the sport to all corners of Sri Lanka.
Basketball
Basketball will be played in 3×3 format at the Sri Lanka Basketball Federation 3×3 Court adjacent to the Racecourse Stadium. 34 Club teams will participate in two categories – 24 Men’s Teams and 10 Women’s Teams. The Men’s teams will be divided into 4 groups whilst the Women’s teams will be divided into two. The knockout phase is most likely to be played on the third and final day of the Sri Lanka Sports Fiesta.
Football
Football will be played as a 5-A-Side Mini Football competition at the Racecourse Stadium. The Football games will be played after the Rugby matches are concluded. The first-round matches will be in the league format whilst the second round will be in knockout format.

Netball
Women’s Netball games will be played at the Sports Ministry Grounds, Torrington Square. 20 Teams will be divided into 4 Groups and the top two teams from each group will advance to the Quarter Finals.
Hockey
65 Teams will participate in 4 categories – Inter-Schools U20 Boys, Inter-Schools U20 Girls, Inter-Club Men’s and Inter-Club Women’s. All the matches will be played at Sri Lanka Hockey Federation Astro Turf.
