(National School Games 2017, Basketball) St. Joseph`s College – Colombo 10 went on to win the boys title while St. Joseph`s Girls School went on to win the girls title, in the U17 age category.
The matches of the U17 age category of Basketball, in the National School Games 2017 was bought to an end at KDU Indoor Basketball Courts. Most of the matches were shifted from the original venue due to adverse weather conditions.
St. Joseph’s Girls School – Nugegoda took on Lyceum International School – Wattala in the final. St. Joseph’s Girls School – Nugegoda dominated the game with defence for the entire forty minutes which gave them a ten-point lead closing the game with a win, 52-42.
Lyceum International School was awarded the first runners up award while Sirimavo Bandaranmayake Vidyaylya was awarded second runners up position.
St. Joseph’s College – Colombo 10 took on Asian International School in the boys final. The game drew its path right till the final quarter as the Darley Road lads swept away a close win of five points, 58-53.
Asian International School was awarded the second runners up position while Maris Stella College – Negombo grabbed the third place.
