Sri Lanka Rugby’s fixtures at the Asian Games

The Sri Lanka national 7’s team that will leave for the Asian Games in Palembang, Indonesia in a bid to bring home the first ever medal in rugby for the country, will have their work cut out as the Olympic Council of Asia released the fixtures of the tournament.

Sri Lanka is grouped alongside South Korea, United Arab Emirates and Afghanistan in Pool C. With the fixtures released, the Tuskers will play their first game against UAE and then face their nemesis South Korea on day 1. The final clash for the group stage will be on the following day(31st) when the team plays Afghanistan.

The fixtures and timings for the Sri Lankan games are as follows:

30th August 2018 –

  •   Sri Lanka v United Arab Emirates – 11.56 a.m
  •   Sri Lanka v South Korea – 3.58 p.m

31st August 2018 –

  • Sri Lanka v Afghanistan – 12.40 p.m

According to their group stage finish, the top two teams from each group will progress to the quarterfinals that will be held later in day 2. The semifinals and the finals will then kick off on the 1st of September 2018 starting from 1.26 p.m.

The games that will be played at Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex from 30 August to 1st September will see a total of 11 teams taking part in the Men’s competition.
