The Sri Lanka President’s XV team, currently in Malaysia, remembered the victims of the tragic Easter Sunday attacks that took the lives of over 250 individuals during their 1st game on tour.
The Sri Lanka President’s side that played the first of their two games against the Malaysian Barbarians observed a minute of silence before kick off. The team also wore black armbands as a mark of respect.
“We started today’s tournament in Malaysia with a moment of silence in remembrance of those who lost their lives during the Easter Sunday attacks last week. The game against Malaysia went well with us winning” added Sri Lanka Rugby assistant coach Fazil Marija on twitter.

Sri Lanka went on to record a comprehensive victory 55-14 victory against the Malaysian Barbarians.

The game against Malaysia on Saturday (4th) will also see both sides observing a minute of silence before kick off.
