Sri Lanka, ranked 114th, were up against the world ranked 44th Vietnam. Vietnam demolished Sri Lanka in the 1st set 25-12. Sri Lanka could only add another two points to their 1st set score in the 2nd set as the scores read 25-14.
Sri Lanka had an improved 3rd set but lost 25-17 to lose in straight sets, 25-12, 25-14 & 25-17.
