Sri Lanka squad has been selected for the upcoming Men’s U19 Asia Cup 2023.
Sineth Jayawardene will lead the 15-member Sri Lanka squad, while Malsha Tharupathi has been named his deputy.
Sri Lanka U19 Team enter this Asian showpiece event on the back of having registered ODI series wins against West Indies U19 and Pakistan U19 in last two months.
They beat West Indies 2-1 in the 3-match series at home in September and registered an away series win against Pakistan in October, where they won the 5-match series 3-2.
The U19 Asia Cup will be played from 8th to 17th December in UAE. Eight Asian teams will compete in the tournament. India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nepal will participate in the tournament in Group A. Sri Lanka, alongside Bangladesh, UAE, and Japan will compete in Group B.
Sri Lanka will play their first game against Japan on the 9th December in Dubai. The Islanders will take on UAE and Bangladesh on the 11th and 13th December, respectively.
