Jevahn Sathasivam had a sensational start at the day 1 of the Sri Lanka Junior Open Golf Championship which was worked off at the Royal Colombo Golf Club (RCGC).
Prima Sunrise continued their support towards Junior Golf in Sri Lanka being the main sponsor of this event for a record 15 years in tandem. This year there were 110 entries in total which saw junior golfers from India, Singapore and Australia teeing off in the last event of 2023 which is becoming very popular among the Junior Golfers around the globe.

In the Gold Division for Boys aged 15-18+, Jevahn Sathasivam took center stage with a magnificent performance with 2 under par 69, establishing a solid lead over his competitors. He was in sparkling form with his long range shots. Yannik Kumara another top class player with world ranking points secured the second position with an impressive score of 74, closely followed by Jacob Norton at third place with a score of 75. The competition was fierce, and the leaderboard reflected the intensity of the battle.
Reshan Algama and Kumar Danushan, considered among the favorites, faced tough day one on the course, finishing at 5th and 8th places, respectively. Algama carded an 83 while Danushan posted a total score of 79.
In the Girls segment of the Gold Division, Kaya Daluwatta seized the lead with an impressive one under par round of 72. Aaliyah Laiza Achary (India) secured the second spot with a total score of 81, setting the stage for an exciting competition in the coming days. Third place was occupied by Sherin Mithsara with a score of 82.
In the Silver Division for Boys aged 13-14+, Adithya Weerasinghe displayed his talent with a 4 over par 75, claiming the top spot. Keshav Algama secured the second position with a score of 80, closely followed by Varun Fernando at third place with a score of 81.
In the Silver Division Girls, Keya Abhayaratne emerged as the leader with a total score of 94, showcasing her skills and determination on the course.
The Bronze Division for Boys witnessed Lavidu Premarathne from Anuradhapura taking the lead with an impressive score of 60. Udeera Bandara, also from Anuradhapura, secured the second position with a score of 66.

Meanwhile, in the Girls category of the Bronze Division, Avighna Unni (India) led with a total score of 64, closely followed by Bhavika (Unni) with a score of 66.
In the Copper division Revaan Amarasinghe showed he dominates in his segment dominating in his segment with first place with a score of 37 followed by Vivaan Singh (India) with 40 and promising Yuvan Rathis Kanth securing 3rd place with a score off 44. In the girls segment in the Copper division saw Aasha Rao leading the way with a score of 42 followed by Vihara Herath at number 2 with a score of 44.
