Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Monday announced the appointment of Chris Adams as consultant for the national team’s tour of Ireland and England.
The 44-year old former England player and captain of Sussex coached Surrey, the county to which Sri Lanka lost its former coach Graham Ford.
The team leaves end of this week and the preparations received a jolt when the English coach Paul Farbrace abruptly left the Sri Lankan head coach’s job to become England’s deputy coach under Peter Moores.
Sri Lanka became critical of both Farbrace and the England & Wales Cricket Board for letting Sri Lanka down ahead of the twin tours.
The SLC also announced the confirmation of the appointment of the former opening batsman and captain Marvan Atapattu as the Head Coach and the former Test spinner Ruwan Kalpage as his assistant.
