The 5th and final T20 match between Sri Lanka Emerging Team and Japan was abandoned today (15th May) without a ball being bowled due to rain at the Sano International Cricket Stadium. Sri Lanka Emerging won the 5-match series 4-0.

Japan skipper Kendel Kadowaki Fleming was the leading run-scorer from either side with 101 runs in 4 games, averaged 25.25 while Sri Lanka Emerging Team’s Ranmith Jayasena and Sakuna Liyanage scored 86 and 69 runs, respectively. However, throughout the series, none of batters from the two teams were able to score a fifty as Fleming’s 43 remained as the highest individual score.
On the bowling front, Sri Lanka Emerging skipper Dellon Peiris bagged 9 wickets in 4 games with an average of 8.22 and best of 3/21. Lakshan Gamage picked 5 wickets throughout the series while Japan’s Kohei Kubota picked 5 scalps too.
