Sri Lanka recorded two huge wins to open their Asian Youth Netball Championship 2023 campaign at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea.

Sri Lanka took on hosts South Korea in their first match and recorded a massive 94-08 win. The 1st Quarter saw Sri Lanka race to a 25-3 lead before adding another 24 points in the 2nd quarter. At Half time, scores read 49-6.
The 3rd Quarter score was 19-2 (68-8), and Sri Lanka did not allow any points against them in the 4th Quarter, while scoring 26 themselves to end the game 94-8.
Captain Sajini Rathnayake scored 32 out of 36 attempts (89%), while Bhashi Udagedara added 30 from 35 shots (86%). The rest were scored by the Musaeus College duo Dilmi Wijenayake (17/21) and Minagee Kankanige (15/19).

Sri Lanka v Brunei
In their 2nd match of the tournament, Sri Lanka defeated Brunei 82-16. Sri Lanka led 19-6 at the end of the 1st Quarter and were leading comfortably 41-9 (22-3) at half time. The 3rd & 4th Quarter scores read 20-3 & 21-4 respectively.
Once again it was Sajini who led the scoring with 33 points from 41 attempts (80%). Dilmi scored 30 from 36 with 83% shooting percentage, while Bhashi scored 16/17 at 94%. Minagee, who came late in the 4th Quarter, scored 3 from 7 (43%).
